The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sees nothing wrong with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque’s recent side trip at Ocean Adventure Park in Subic, Bataan.
In a Laging Handa briefing aired Friday over state-run PTV4, DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said travel for tourism purposes are allowed in areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
“Pangalawa, si Spokesman Roque ay isang APOR or Authorized Person Outside Residence, not only because may binisita siyang negosyo doon dahil meron siyang business interest but also because he is a government official,” he added.
Roque, also acting as the spokesperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, recently drew flak for swimming with the dolphins in Subic while the whole country is under community quarantine due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.
