A potential vaccine for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) will be publicly available by December, according to President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a taped public address aired on state-run PTV-4 on Friday, Duterte said the country will finally go back to normal in the coming months.
“I promise you by the grace of God, I hope by December we would be back to normal,” the Chief Executive said.
“Hintayin lang ho ninyo ang vaccine. By December, kung makatiis kayo. KAsi kung lumabas kayo pag matamaan kayo, patay rin. Saludo talaga ako sa Chinese. Ang unang makuha natin siguro mula sa China,” he added.
Duterte has cited China for progress in vaccine development. Pfizer, Moderna, and other pharmaceutical companies are also developing vaccines to stop Covid-19, he added.
