To see is to believe: Tugade checks on flights, stranded passengers at NAIA

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade visited the Ninoy Aquino International Terminal 3 Wednesday (July 1) to check on the condition of passengers awaiting their flights.

Tugade explained that there are two reasons for the cancellation of flights at the airport. He said some airlines change their flight schedules. He said there are also local government units which adjust their protocol in accepting stranded passengers.

He reminded the public to refrain from going to the airport unless their flights are confirmed. He said this is to protect their health as COVID-19 remains a threat.

Nevertheless, Tugade ordered Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal to ensure stranded passengers are taken care of.

Passengers stranded at the airport thanked the Transportation Secretary for his concern. He, however, said he was only following President Rodrigo Duterte’s orders.
