Ako nagdala, ako nagpatanggal! Eric Yap forced Pulong’s Batasan staff to resign

MANILA – House committee on Appropriations chair Eric Yap has claimed responsibility for the reported mass resignation of the entire congressional staff of Presidential son and Deputy Speaker for Political Affairs Paolo Duterte.

In an interview with Politiko, Yap, representative of ACT-CIS Party-list group, said he asked Duterte’s chief of staff, Atty. Sherwin Prose Castañeda, to tender his resignation amid the reported lapses and mismanagement in running the office of the Davao City congressman.

According to Yap, he recommended Castañeda to Duterte so he believed it is only proper to ask for his resignation due to the reported complaints inside the office of President Rodrigo Duterte’s eldest son.

“Pinag-resign ko siya after receiving complaints sa patakbo ng office ni DS Pulong. It’s only right to ask for his resignation kasi ako rin naman ang nag-pasok sa kanya diyan,” said Yap.

Duterte’s other staff members followed suit since they were all hand-picked by Castañeda.

Castañeda and six others tendered their “irrevocable resignation effective August 15.”

Also leaving their posts in Duterte’s office were Supervising Legislative Staff Officer Denver Chua, Legislative Officer II Editha Vitto, Legislative Staff Assistant II Ava Dominique De Leon, Political Affairs Assistant III Emily Baylon, Political Affairs Assistant II Gilmarc Caasi and Rex Barcenas, a consultant.
