Vice President Leni Robredo called on Filipinos to fight for the country Monday (August 31) as she paid tribute to heroes on National Heroes’ Day.
In a statement, Robredo urged Filipinos to love people beyond their circles and care for the country.
“Fight, if necessary; do not shrink from struggle or sacrifice. Be kind and be brave,” she said.
Robredo wished Filipinos a “relevant and reflective” commemoration of National Heroes’ Day as she lauded the sacrifices of frontliners serving amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“May the courage of our heroes continue to inspire us, as we once again face difficult times,” she said.
