President Rodrigo Duterte will hold a virtual meeting with members of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for Emerging Infectious Diseases later to discuss the new quarantine classification of Metro Manila and other nearby provinces beginning August 18, Malacañang said Monday.
The IATF meeting will be held virtually because Interior Secretary Eduardo Año recently tested positive for coronavirus disease, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
“Ako ay nagbu-broadcast galing sa aking tahanan ngayon dahil si Secretary Año ay nag-positive at minabuti naming mag self-quarantine ngayon. Ito naman po ay limang araw tapos kami ay magpa-PCR test para naman makabalik na sa trabaho,” Roque said during his online press briefing.
“Matutuloy ang ating address o pag-uusap ng ating Pangulo mamayang gabi sa taumbayan at malalaman natin kung ano ang magiging classification ng Metro Manila at karatig na mga probinsya na Cavite, Laguna, Rizal at Bulacan,” he added.
“Nakagawian natin na bago mag talumpati ang Presidente sa taumbayan ay magkakroon tayo ng pagpupulong sa ilang mga miyembro ng Gabinete at ang IATF. Tuloy pa rin ito bagamat this will be a virtual conference dahil minabuti namin na dahil nga nagpositibo ang isa sa amin na pag-ingatan ang kalusugan ng Presidente,” he shared.
