President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to appoint a replacement for resigned PhilHealth president and CEO Ricardo Morales “within one week,” Malacañang said.
In a recent Radio 5 interview, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte will come to a decision as soon as possible.
“Ayaw ko pong pangunahan ang Presidente, pero hindi po magtatagal iyan, I would say within the week… within one week—not within the week, but within one week,” according to Roque.
Last Wednesday, Morales tendered his irrevocable resignation to the Office of the President, citing his medical condition.
He was diagnosed with lymphoma or cancer of the lymph nodes and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
