The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has assigned Cabinet members to provide “stronger support” to local government units with high coronavirus (Covid-19) cases.
Its latest directive was contained in Resolution 62 approved on Wednesday.
The move, according to the IATF, will “further operationalize the national government-enabled, local government-led, and people-centered response” against Covid-19.
Here are the Cabinet members’ respective assignments:
-Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles (Quezon City)
-Education Secretary Leonor Briones and Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat (Pasig City)
-Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Danilo Lim (Pateros)
-Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III and Commissioner on Higher Education chairperson Prospero de Vera III (Marikina City and Malabon City)
-Interior Secretary Eduardo Año and testing czar Vivencio Dizon (Taguig City)
-Information and Communications Technology Secretary Gregorio Honasan II and Anti-Red Tape Authority director general Jeremiah Belgica (Manila City)
-Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez (Mandaluyong City)
-National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. (Makati City)
-Socioeconomic Planning acting secretary Karl Kendrick Chua (Muntinlupa City)
-National Task Force Covid-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. (Parañaque City)
-Public Works Secretary Mark Villar (Las Piñas City)
-Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr. (Pasay City)
-Agriculture Secretary William Dar (Caloocan City)
-Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado (Navotas City)
-Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato dela Peña (Valenzuela City)
-Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra (Bulacan)
-Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana (Cavite)
-Communications Secretary Martin Andanar (Laguna)
-Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi (Rizal)
The resolution also mandates the IATF members to strictly monitor health system performance, critical care capacity, and stringent compliance to surveillance, isolation, and treatment protocols.
