The national government has approved the resumption of the qualifying assessment for foreign medical professionals on September 19.
In its Resolution 62 approved on Wednesday, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases said: “The resumption of the Part II of the testing activities for the Qualifying Assessment for Foreign Medical Professionals tentatively scheduled on 19 September 2020 by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is ratified.”
This decision came weeks after the IATF allowed the PRC to hold the Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) next month.
The approved examinations for the PLE and Qualifying Assessment for Medical Professionals from September 19 to 21, however, will proceed only in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified GCQ (MGCQ), the resolution pointed out.
“Strict health protocols as may be approved by the Department of Health shall be observed,” the task force said.
Agencies have also been directed to render full assistance for the safe and successful conduct of the examinations.
