Two more employees of the House of Representatives have tested positive for Covid-19, House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said on Wednesday.
“The first is from the committee on rules. She reported for work from July 20 – Aug. 5 and got tested after experiencing some symptoms including loss of sense of smell and decreased sense of taste,” he said.
“The second is from the grounds maintenance group,” Montales said in the advisory.
The employee “reported for work from July 20-30. He is a close contact of an officemate who was earlier confirmed to be Covid-19 positive. He is asymptomatic,” he added.
Montales said contact tracing is ongoing for people who had close contact with the employees.
Senior Citizens party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr., who his party-mate and presumptive successor said died of Covid-19 on Monday, was not yet included in the count, as his positive test result has not been independently confirmed.
