President Rodrigo Duterte said that Vice President Leni Robredo’s criticism of the government’s efforts to address the coronavirus crisis was adding “fuel to the fire.”
In a taped public address aired early Tuesday morning, Duterte accused Robredo of engaging in black propaganda to malign his government.
“Sa panahong itong pandemic, medyo desperado tayo tapos dagdagan ng ganun. Please do not add fuel to the fire. You will just destroy the government,” the Chief Executive said.
“Wag nyo sirain ang gobyerno kasi masisira ang tao. Kapag nasisira ang gobyerno lulutang tayong lahat. Maski na sabihin niyo mamatay ako bukas, it cannot solve the problem of the country,” he added.
In her 20-minute address Monday, Robredo asserted that the Duterte administration has no clear plan on the country’s fight against the coronavirus disease.
