Willie Revillame continues to play coy about rumors that he’s running for public office in 2022 as his efforts to help people affected by the COVID-19 crisis gain media attention.
In an interview with Philippine Star entertainment editor Ricky Lo, Revillame said he only wants to help.
“Gusto ko simpleng buhay lang at makatulong,” he said.
Asked if there was “strings attached” to his gesture of helping Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Revillame said: “I just want to help the government.”
Revillame recently allowed Roque to use his studio at Wil Tower in Quezon City for Malacañang’s regular press briefings.
The television host also donated P5 million to jeepney drivers who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
Revillame was rumored to run in the 2016 and 2019 elections but they fizzled out.
