Malacañang wished resigned PhilHealth President and CEO Ricardo Morales a speedy recovery from his illness.
“Well, General Morales, I’m praying for your good health. May you recover and may you live long,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said, reacting to Morales’ statement that he may now take over the corruption-ridden agency.
Roque maintained that he has no interest in the top PhilHealth post saying that he’s “busy with my job right now.”
Morales, who was diagnosed with lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy, left his post on Wednesday following President Rodrigo Duterte’s advice.
Duterte has not chosen a replacement for him yet.
