Sila na nga! Ping identifies mafia in PhilHealth

“At lumalabas talaga pangit man sabihin, sila talaga ang mafia.”

Sen. Panfilo Lacson thus described on Sunday some members of the executive committee as the mafia behind the shenanigans inside the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).

In an interview on DZBB and GMA News TV, Lacson said these officials at the PhilHealth central office are the ones dictating where funds should go.

“Sa kanila nanggaling, central office. Pag sabi nating central office, Execom eh.

Lacson recalled the statements of regional vice president for Region 6 Valerie Hollero and Region 6 RVP Michael Jibson Hernandez that they were given a list of hospitals that would receive the interim reimbursement mechanism funds for COVID-19, with the central office drawing up the list.

Lacson also cited signs that the roof leak that reportedly destroyed documents at PhilHealth’s Region 1 office was not natural and could be an attempt at coverup.
