Now that’s cooperation.

The powerhouse task force led by the Department of Justice will help legislators craft laws to strengthen the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) against corruption, Sen. Panfilo Lacson said Sunday.

Lacson, vice chairman of the Senate Committee of the Whole that investigated the PhilHealth mess, said the Senate leadership is also sharing its findings and evidence with the task force under Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.

“May napagusapan kami tutulungan kami ng task force magbalangkas ng legislative proposal para ma-strengthen ang PhilHealth para masilbihan ang kababayan na dapat silbihan,” he said in an interview on DZBB and GMA News TV.

Lacson said Senate President Vicente Sotto III had tasked him to provide the documents and other records gathered by the Senate Committee of the Whole and share them with the task force.

He said Guevarra is serious in getting the records from the Senate. “Ibig sabihin talagang may mapupuntahan ang investigation,” he said.

“About Sec Guevarra, kung siya mismo nakita ko gusto niya get to the bottom of all the issues at file-an ng kaso ang lahat na ma-file-an,” he added.

Earlier, Lacson said the Senate is working on the committee report this weekend. He said the report is likely to tackle four issues, including:

* illegal disbursement of interim reimbursement mechanism funds for COVID-19

* overpricing of IT equipment

* manipulation of financial records

* a special report on the supposed special treatment by PhilHealth to B Braun Avitum Dialysis Center.
