In full PPE gear, Janella Estrada distributes galunggong to San Juan residents

She lost her mayoralty bid in 2016 but former San Juan vice mayor Janella Ejercito Estrada is not about to stop public service.

Braving the coronavirus pandemic, the daughter of former Senator Jinggoy Estrada has distributed free fish to fellow San Juan residents to help them cope amid these trying times.

Based on photos shared on Facebook, the former public official is seen wearing a full personal protective equipment suit with mask and shield during the distribution of galunggong.

“Galunggong distribution sa mga naka lockdown na kalye: San Roque Barangay Corazon de Jesus, Asiñas Barangay Salapan, PR Sotto Barangay Tibagan at Pag-ibig Barangay Onse kasama sina Konsehala Jana Ejercito, Konsehal CounChesco Velasco Fullaccount at Konsehal Konsi Vic Reyes 😊,” she wrote on Facebook.

“It’s good to be back! 💪🏽 Stay safe and healthy everyone. 🙏🏼 #MisyonParaSaBayan,” she said.

Back in May, former Senator Jinggoy was brought to the police station amid allegations of violating San Juan’s quarantine measures during a fish distribution project. The former senator insisted that physical distancing and other health protocols were observed while he gave away fish to residents in San Juan City.
