Mitsubishi Motor Philippines has quietly brought in a refreshed version of its Xpander MPV. While the limelight is still firmly focused on the top-trim Xpander Cross, the rest of the range adds some visual tweaks and convenience features.
The 2021 Xpander features a revised front-end with cues first seen in the Xpander Cross. It gets a more aggressive front clip with a larger three-diamond logo, new 16-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone finish, and a sharks fin antenna. The top-trim GLS also benefits from LED headlights. Inside, Mitsubishi’s best-selling MPV gets minor tweaks such as revised fabrics for the seats.
Mechanically, the Xpander remains unchanged and with that remains powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine making 104 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. Transmission options remain a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic depending on the variant.
Thankfully, despite the added features and tweaked styling, the Xpander’s prices remain more or less stable. The Xpander GLX M/T comes in at P 1,008,000, the Xpander GLX Plus A/T at P 1,088,000, and finally, the Xpander GLS at P 1.128 million. The 2021 Xpander is now at authorized Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide.
