Malacañang believes the use of crushed dolomite boulders in the makeover of Manila Bay’s shore won’t harm the environment.
“Sa tingin ko naman po hindi itutuloy ang proyekto ng DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resource) nang walang sapat na pag-aaral,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an interview Saturday.
Roque added that he looks forward to seeing the results of the project, which cost around P397 million.
“Ako mismo, I’m looking forward to it dahil ako po ay mahilig talaga na maglakad at maupo diyan sa Manila Bay,” according to him.
The Palace official said the white sand makeover of Manila Bay will make the area become “one of the most picturesque sceneries” across the world.
“Sa tingin ko po yung beach na ‘yan ay makakatulong pa para maging pinakamagandang lugar sa buong mundo ang Manila Bay,” he added.
