Sorsogon City courts to re-open Sept 7

Sorsogon City courts are set to re-open on Monday (Sept. 7) after a lawyer earlier suspected of having the COVID-19 virus turned out to be negative, the Supreme Court (SC) said.

“Bulwagan ng Katarungan, Sorsogon City resumes operation on September 7, 2020,” the SC Public Information Office (SCPIO) said in its latest Twitter post.

The SCPIO said Sorsogon City Executive Judge Rofebar Gerona has already issued a memorandum of Monday’s re-opening of the Bulwagan ng Katarungan.

“Considering that DOH (Department of Health( Region V and the Sorsogon City Health Office rendered a report that the swab test done to the lawyer suspected to be a COVID-19 case turned out to be negative, operations of the courts and offices at the Bulwagan ng Katarungan will resume on September 07, 2020 (Monday),” read the memorandum.

Last Sept. 3, a memorandum was issued ordering the temporary closure of the Bulwagan ng Katarungan which underwent disinfection due to possible COVID-19 exposure.
