Duterte to return to Manila on Tuesday – Roque

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to return to Manila on November 3, according to Malacañang.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte is currently in his hometown of Davao City, monitoring the movement of typhoon “Rolly” which has brought strong winds and heavy rainfall over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, the northern portion of Sorsogon and the central and southern portions of Quezon.

“Sa ngayon po, nasa Davao po ang ating Presidente. Ang schedule pagbalik po niya ay sa Tuesday,” Roque said during a televised briefing held at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City Sunday.

“Siya ay nakatutok at siya nga po’y nag-utos sa atin na mag-conduct ng ganitong press briefing kung saan kasasamahan tayo ng lahat ng kalihim na nangunguna sa mga ahensya na magbibigay tulong sa ating mga kababayan,” he added.

Roque said Duterte will address the nation in line with typhoon “Rolly” either today or tomorrow.

“He has been monitoring. He continues to give us instructions and as I say, ina-arrange po natin yung address ng Pangulo anytime, either today or tomorrow,” he also said.
