Villar, again, tops Senate’s rich list; De Lima still poorest

Cynthia Villar is still the No. 1 wealthiest senator while Leila de Lima remains the poorest Senate member, according to a summary listing of their statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) as of December 2019.

Villar, wife of real estate mogul and former Senate President Manny Villar, declared a net worth of more than P3.8 billion, increase her wealth by nearly P300 million from her net worth six months earlier in June 2019.

At No. 2 is boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao, who declared a net worth of P3.17 billion.

Villar and Pacquiao were the only two billionaires on the list.

Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto, husband of movie star and Batangas Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto, ranked a distant third with a declared net worth amounting to P567.4 million.

Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri was fourth on the list with a net worth of a little over P203.6 million.

In fifth place was Senator Bong Revilla Jr. with P176.36 million while Senator Sonny Angara was in sixth place with P142.2 million

Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon was seventh with P102.3 million.

De Lima, detained at Camp Crame on drug trading charges since 2017, was the least wealthy with P8.32 million.

Senator Risa Hontiveros followed De Lima with P16 million, while Senator Bong Go was the third “poorest” with a declared net worth of P18.4 million.
