President Rodrigo Duterte finds no fault with the Philippine International Trading Corp. (PITC) holding on to the P33 billion in idle funds of its client-agencies, his spokesman said Tuesday.
The Department of Finance (DOF) earlier requested the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), who oversees the PITC, to return the funds that are not being utilized in its coffers to the national government.
Yan po ay undergoing different stages of procurement,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.
Roque said the PITC will fully remit to the national treasury P100 percent of interest it generated from the P33 billion.
“Makipagugnayan ang DTI, DOF at DBM (Department of Budget and Management).
