President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday urged government agencies to speed up the distribution of assistance to typhoon victims.
During his situation briefing in Pili, Camarines Sur following the aftermath of typhoon “Ulysses,” Duterte lamented the slow pace of government relief operations.
“Ang problema lang sa, historically, is that the government moves slowly, especially the national government,” the Chief Executive said.
“Sa ganitong pangyayari, kung mabilisan ninyo, cut the time to something like half or more than… ‘Yan ang reklamo ng tao, especially kung ganito.
“The time is of the essence actually. They need to get hold of the things that are needed by them. Maka-access kaagad,” he added.
