Malacañang on Tuesday welcomed the news that the Moderna vaccine is 94.5 percent effective against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
“Mabuting balita naman ito. Inanusyo po ng Moderna na ang kanilang bakuna laban sa Covid-19 at 94.5 percent effective base sa resulta ng kanilang clinical trial,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
Roque said this means that a vaccine may be just around the corner.
“Palapit ng palapit na ang pagkakaroon ng bakuna laban sa Covid-19,” according to the secretary.
“Ngunit tulad ng ating palaging sinasabi at hinihingi ng ating Presidente, dapat abutan ng lahat ng Pilipino ang pagdating ng bakuna, kaya samantala kinakailangan mag-mask, maghugas at umiwas,” he added.
Pfizer earlier announced that its vaccine is more than 90 percent effective in preventing the disease.
