The Department of Education (DepEd) will push through with giving its employees in Metro Manila a noche buena package despite the call for austerity measures in government agencies due to the successive disasters that hit the country.
In a Facebook post Saturday (November 14), blogger Tonyo Cruz shared screenshots of DepEd’s bidding documents for the delivery of ham and cheese for the Christmas celebration at the government agency’s central office. The approved budget for the contract was P4,278,000.00
The budget is broken down as follows: P2.982 million for 4,260 pieces of ham or P700 apiece, and P1.296 million for 2,160 pieces of cheese, or P600 each.
The invitation to bid was released on November 12.
Interested parties for bidding were asked to submit the necessary requirements by December 3.
