Prosecutor General Benedicto Malcontento said the preliminary investigation of the 6th batch of Dengvaxia complaints filed by the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) will begin next year.
“Next year na. 98 counts kasi yan,” Mallcontento said.
The PAO, on behalf of the families of those who got vaccinated with the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia, filed at the Department of Justice (DOJ) last Nov. 25 the 6th batch of Dengvaxia complaints.
The 6th batch of dengvaxia complaints concerns the deaths of 98 Dengvaxia recipients among the 160 total dead vaccinees the PAO has autopsied.
It also includes a complaint over the suffering that a boy survivor went through.
“Napuno conference room namin ng documents,” Malcontento recalled the day PAO filed the 6th batch of complaints with a truck-load of documents.
Meanwhile, Malcontento said he has yet to designate a prosecutor who will be doing the preliminary investigation of the 6th batch of Dengvaxia complaints.
The complaints also named 41 respondents including Health Sec. Francisco Duque III and Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin.
