‘Di makaantay! Duterte eager to get vaccinated for coronavirus – Palace

President Rodrigo Duterte can hardly wait to get a coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccination, according to Malacañang.

In a virtual presser Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte is willing to be inoculated with the first Covid-19 vaccines to help build public confidence in vaccination.

“Ang Presidente ay hindi na makaantay. Gusto niya talagang turukan na siya para maipakita sa buong bayan na ligtas at epektibo at ito ay dumaan sa expert panel group ng pinakadalubhasang Pilipino at yan ay comes with their highest endorsement na ligtas at epektibo,” according to him.

Roque also noted that frontline health workers, indigent senior citizens, remaining senior citizens, remaining indigent population, and uniformed personnel will receive priority access to vaccines.

Duterte earlier issued Executive Order No. 121 allowing the country’s Food and Drug Administration to allow emergency use of Covid-19 vaccines and treatments.

This will shorten the process of approving vaccines from six months to 21 days.
