President Rodrigo Duterte has certified as urgent the extension of the 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA) and Republic Act No. 11494 or the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2).
This was confirmed by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque in a brief statement Monday afternoon.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved on second reading a bill extending the availability of funds appropriated under the 2020 General Appropriations Act until December 31, 2021.
A measure seeking to extend the effectivity of Bayanihan 2, which is set to expire on December 19, has also hurdled the House appropriations panel.
Meanwhile, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said the Senate may pass its counterpart measures this week.
