Former Senator Francis Escudero paid tribute to the late film actor Fernando Poe Jr. on his 16th death anniversary.
The former lawmaker and now governor of Sorsogon considers Poe as a boss and a friend. He served as campaign spokesman of Poe when he ran for president in the 2004 presidential elections.
In Facebook post, Escudero said he terribly misses Poe.
“FPJ passed away 16 years ago today in 2004. Nakaka-miss ka pa rin hanggang ngayon Boss!” he said.
Poe, dubbed the king of Philippine movies, died on Dec. 14, 2004 after suffering a stroke. He was 65.
Poe, popular among the masses for his film portrayals as fast-punching hero of the poor, ran for president in 2004 but lost to President Arroyo by more than million votes. The elections were marred with allegations of fraud.
