The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has instructed the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) to prohibit the expansion of permissible accessory activities in the golf clubs.
The NGAP is the sport’s national governing body.
In a statement Friday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the IATF directed the organization “to cease and desist” in the expansion of accessory activities allowed at golf clubs.
Locker rooms for golfers, according to Roque, must remain closed pending the review and approval of health protocols by the appropriate government agencies.
The task force also ordered NGAP to transmit its proposed protocols for golf to the Department of Health and the Department of Labor and Employment for vetting.
