President Rodrigo Duterte will not protect Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca who killed an unarmed woman and her son during an argument in Paniqui, Tarlac, his spokesman said Monday.
Nuezca shot Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank several times after an argument regarding the firing of a “boga.”
“Bakit poprotektahan ni Presidente ‘yan? Hindi naman po yan service-related no. Yan po ay pribadong bagay,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.
“Nagkataon lang pulis siya. Pero kinakailangan siyang managot,” added Roque.
Nuezca is currently detained at the Paniqui Municipal Police Office on double murder charges related to the shooting death of the Gregorios.
