Magre-resign ‘pag may nangurakot? Weh ‘di nga?! Mon Tulfo calls out BFF Duterte for ‘talking out of line’

Even President Rodrigo Duterte’s long-time friend, Special Envoy to China Mon Tulfo, couldn’t help but scoff at his repeated threats to resign over corruption allegations.

Tulfo called out Duterte Tuesday (December 15) for recently declaring he will resign if he or any member of his Cabinet is proven to be corrupt.

“Please don’t say you will resign if anyone in your official family is corrupt because you just might be forced to if push comes to shove,” he said in his Manila Times column.

Tulfo said that while he can vouch for Duterte’s integrity, he said there are “many members” of the Cabinet who are corrupt.

The columnist and host said he’s willing to be shot by Duterte—as the President dared—if his reports about corruption in the government turn out to be false.

“It’s high time somebody told the President that he’s talking out of line — sometimes,” he said.

Tulfo said he’s openly criticizing Duterte because that’s what good friends do.

“Only Digong’s genuine friends will have the temerity of a child to say that the emperor is not wearing any clothes,” he said.
