Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Wednesday pushed for the immediate firing and replacement of the official who botched a deal for 10 million doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.
Lacson gave hints of the official as he replied to the Twitter posts of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., who bared that someone “dropped the ball” on the deal.
“Mr. Secretary, who dropped the ball? We couldn’t care less if he’s your captain ball. Huddle with your coach to replace him immediately. This is one game we can’t lose,” Lacson said on his Twitter account.

In a text message to reporters, Lacson hinted the official is a Cabinet member “who keeps dropping the ball but… stays in the game.”
Lacson asked Locsin about the identity of the official during a Commission on Appointments hearing but Locsin declined to name names.
In a tweet, Locsin also explained he and Philippine ambassador to Washington Babe Romualdez did their jobs.
“I wish you and Babe good luck in your next effort to intercept the ball. Next time, don’t pass it to that doggone ‘sanamagan’ teammate of yours. He keeps dropping the ball. Our people need those vaccines!” Lacson replied.
