Sibakin na ‘yan! Duterte tags DPWH ‘bagman’ Melgar Josefino as Sato cohort in Mindoro ghost projects

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the firing of a corrupt Department of Public Works and Highways official for allegedly conniving with Occidental Mindoro Rep. Josephine Sato in “ghost projects.”

“The Secretary of DPWH is listening now, maybe. Somebody should relay the message na itong si district engineer, kung sino man itong y*** na ito, you are relieved beginning tomorrow. If you are listening, this is nationwide,” said Duterte in a briefing Monday night.

“Secretary Mark Villar, kindly implement the order. Get him out of the office by tomorrow, noontime,” he added.

Although Duterte did not name the DPWH official, he was alluding to officer-in-charge District Engineer Josefino Melgar.

Duterte claimed Sato had stopped previous plans to eject Melgar from the Occidental Mindoro office.

“Congressman Josephine Ramirez-Sato of Occidental Mindoro – alleged ghost projects in her district. Her alleged bagman is the district engineer. Has been staying in position for at least 10 years,” said Duterte.

“Secretary Mark issued an order for the transfer of the said district engineer. But until now, it has not been implemented due to the intervention of Congressman Sato,” he added.
