Weh, di nga! Roque spending own funds to promote tourism

The spokesperson of President Rodrigo Duterte said he uses “personal” funds to promote various tourism destinations in the country.

In several instances, Duterte’s mouthpiece Harry Roque held his regular Palace briefings outside the New Executive Building in Malacañang Palace.

In October, Roque conducted a press conference in Panglao, Bohol. He also went to Boracay Island in Aklan early that month to promote domestic travel.

“It’s mostly my personal funds, no kidding,” the Palace official said in a virtual presser held in Palawan Thursday.

“I only have P800,000 budget since my predecessor obtained his budget… was using his budget from his other office. It’s mostly my personal funds,” he added.

Roque earlier denied that he will run for Senate in the next elections. He said he looks forward to retiring from government service in 2022.
