More than a month after saying that he was looking forward to retirement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said he’s yet to decide whether to run for political office in the next elections.
“I don’t know yet,” he told actress Aiko Melendez in her January 23 vlog when asked if he’s running for public office.
“I don’t know what God has in store for me. Nagdadasal na lang ako. I am a Christian. Sabi ko, ‘Lord, thy will be done’.”
Last December, Roque belied rumors that he was planning to run as a senator, saying he was considering retirement by 2022.
The spokesman sought a Senate seat in the 2019 midterm elections but later dropped his bid due to heart ailment.
“Nung nagka-heart attack ako, I did not know what to do. About 4 to 6 months, I had depression until I realized one day: ‘What am I doing here? I still have a mission in this world, I have to go out and achieve it’,” he told Melendez.
