Health workers, seniors to get Sinovac vaccines first – Roque

By Prince Golez

Health care workers will get the first doses of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine from China’s Sinovac, Malacañang said.

“Mauuna po iyong mga priority areas na health workers ang bibigyan,” according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Pero ang initial agreement po ‘no – although, hindi pa po ito in the form of a resolution – ay uubusin ang lahat ng health workers muna sa Pilipinas before we move on to the next sector,” Roque said in a televised briefing Tuesday.

The Palace official earlier said the initial batch of 50,000 doses from China will arrive in the Philippines next month.

Another 950,000 doses of Sinovac vaccines will be delivered in March; 1 million doses in April; 1 million doses in May; and then 2 million doses in June.

Other sectors prioritized for free vaccination are the senior citizens, indigent citizens, and uniformed personnel.
