Malacañang dismissed as “haka-haka” rumors that President Rodrigo Duterte has already received the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine.
On Monday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque denied that Duterte, together with some personnel of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), had been injected with a Chinese-made Covid-19 vaccine.
The personnel vaccinated themselves sometime in September and October last year, PSG commander Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante III revealed last month.
“Haka-haka lang po yan,” Roque said in a televised briefing.
When asked about Duterte’s change of heart on receiving the first shots of the vaccine, the secretary explained: “Ang totoo po niyan, eh siyempre depende kung ano sa tingin ng Presidente ang dapat niyang mensahe sa taumbayan sa kanyang lingguhang Talk to the People.”
“Nung isang linggo ang kanyang desisyon, importante na iparating ang mensahe na dahil siya ay hinahal na mga mahihirap sa bayang ito, sila po ang unang mababakunahan,” he added.
