Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo on Saturday asked critics of the national vaccination program to “relax” and “use their common sense.”
Duting his commentary show “Counterpoint,” Panelo urged them to trust the government’s coronavirus vaccine rollout plan.
“Kayong mga kritiko, pwede ba, relax lang kayo. Gamitin ninyo ‘yung mga sentido kumon niyo. Trust your officials. Huwag nang kung anu-anong pagdududa ang ginagawa ninyo,” the abogado said.
Panelo also assured the public of the safety and efficacy of vaccines that will be supplied to the Philippines.
“Tayo hong mga Pilipino, gamitin din natin ‘yung bukas na kaisipan natin na ang pamahalaan natin, na ang tungkulin ay pangalagaan tayong lahat at pagsilbihan, eh hindi to kukuha ng bakuna na ikasisira natin,” he added.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier criticized the opposition for “muddling” in the vaccination procurement effort.
Duterte clarified that vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. had nothing to do with the payment schemes, adding that he and Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III finalize the approval of vaccine deals.
