Foreigners with existing valid visas can enter the Philippines, subject to arrival and quarantine protocols, MalacaƱang said.
On Friday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases amended its earlier resolution on the travel restriction for foreign travelers coming from countries that report the presence of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) variant.
In its Resolution No 95, the IATF allowed foreign nationals with valid visas, including personnel of accredited international organizations, and spouse and minor children of Filipino citizens, to enter the country.
Those who arrive for medical and emergency cases, including their medical escorts, if any, are now subject to applicable testing and quarantine protocols as prescribed by the Department of Health, added Roque.
Last week, the Philippines extended the ban on all travellers from over 30 countries and territories with confirmed cases of a Covid-19 variant initially found in the United Kingdom (UK) until the end of January.
The countries affected by the travel ban are Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Israel, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, India, Italy, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Oman, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, South Africa, Switzerland, Spain, UK, United Arab Emirates, and United States.
