The country’s richest man, Manny Villar, is all praises for his family for supposedly working hard despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his December 22 column for the Manila Bulletin, Villar used as many superlatives as he could to describe his family members, most of whom are in politics.
Villar said his wife, Senator Cynthia Villar, “continues her admirable work in the Senate where she has been the most vocal defender of the environment, OFW welfare, and agriculture.”
“As a legislator she joined her colleagues in providing policy directions amidst the coronavirus pandemic especially in terms of providing assistance to those severely affected by the lockdown,” the bilyonaryo businessman said.
Manny said his son Mark “has done a wonderful job as secretary of DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways).”
“He’s been at the forefront of our fight against COVID-19 as well as government efforts amidst the string of powerful typhoons in the past months,” Manny beamed.
The former senator, meanwhile, described his only daughter, Camille, as an “excellent representative” of the family’s bailiwick, Las Piñas City.
“I am proud of the tremendous job she has been doing as a neophyte in Congress,” he said.
Interestingly, Manny did not mention anything about his daughter-in-law, Justice Undersecretary Emmeline Villar, who’s married to Mark.
Continuing his praises for the family, Manny said his son Paolo “has done an extraordinary job as president and CEO of Vista Land & Lifescapes.”
“I am extremely proud of the way he has led our company,” Manny said.
