Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Saturday questioned the sudden proliferation of “relief operations” in several parts of the country, even in areas not hit by calamities.
Lacson noted that while relief operations could have been done quietly and at any time of the year, some recent ones appear to seek publicity.
“Mga kababayan! Simula na ng mga ‘relief operations’ sa iba’t-ibang lugar, kahit walang kalamidad, kumpleto pa sa photo-ops. Cant it be done all year round or as the need arises, and without fanfare?”

Lacson’s tweet came amid heightened speculation on who will run for key positions in the 2022 elections.
