As people around the world celebrate Valentine’s Day, Malacañang on Sunday urged the public to stay safe during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
In a statement, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar highlighted the need for all Filipinos to remain vigilant in the fight against Covid-19.
“Love is contagious this Valentine’s Day, but so is the virus,” said Andanar.
“As we celebrate and show our love to our families, loved ones, and friends the best way that we can, let us forget to observe the minimum health standards and protocols to protect them and ourselves from Covid-19,” he added.
The secretary likewise urged everyone to help the needy and pray for the sick and those who care for them during this difficult time.
“We wish everyone a joyful and meaningful celebration this Day of Hearts. Happy Valentine’s Day,” he concluded.
