The inter-agency panel led by the Department of Justice (DOJ) had to focus on areas with the highest incidents of deaths in illegal drugs operations, said Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.
Guevarra pointed this out due to the constraints in reviewing all 5,655 illegal drug operations which resulted to deaths.
“These are the areas with the highest number of incidents,” he told reporters.
Guevarra noted these areas are Bulacan, Pampanga and Cavite.
The secretary last year told the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) that the DOJ-led panel was formed to review the 5,655 illegal drug operations.
Guevarra said the initial findings has already been submitted to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
“We are expecting the PNP to submit to us the recommendations of their Internal Affairs Service for administrative and criminal action against those PNP personnel found liable, so that we can verify if these recommendations have actually been carried out,” he also told reporters.
