Duterte ‘perplexed’ by collatila set on Sinovac vaccines – Palace

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte was “perplexed” by the condition made by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in granting an emergency use authorization (EUA) to Chinese drugmaker Sinovac’s Covid-19 vaccine, his spokesman said Wednesday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque admitted that Duterte invited FDA Director General Rolando Enrique Domingo to the last Cabinet meeting and asked him of this matter.

To recall, FDA recently issued Sinovac an EUA but did not recommend the China-made vaccine for health workers and senior citizens.

Authorities earlier announced that China donated 600,000 Sinovac vaccines to the Philippines, allocating 100,000 of these to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
