Malacañang said it respects the decision of the Supreme Court (SC) dismissing the electoral protest filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos against Vice President Leni Robredo.
“‘Yan ay desisyon ng kataas-taasang hukuman. We respect that,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing Tuesday.
“We respect also that the camp of (former) Senator Bongbong Marcos has a further remedy of moving for reconsideration,” added Roque.
Earlier, SC sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal unanimously junked Marcos’ poll protest against Robredo, concluding more than four years of litigation of the SC.
“Out of the 15 members of the tribunal who were present in today’s meeting, seven members fully concurred in the dismissal while eight concurred in the result.” according to Spokesperson Brian Keith Hosaka.
