Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Tuesday clarified that his staff who was tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) did not join him in his Visayas trip over the weekend.
Roque made the statement after netizens accused him of lying about being under isolation, saying that the secretary was spotted diving in Boracay Island.
“Maraming malisyosong na sinasabi na nagpunta ako doon miski exposed, hindi totoo iyan. Kalokohan po iyan,” he said in his televised briefing.
According to the Palace official, he was in Iloilo and Boracay Island on Friday and Saturday and flew back home Sunday.
“Dumiretso ako sa airport diagnostic center para mag PCR (test) dahil nga po a-attend sana tayo ng meeting na kasama si Presidente kahapon,” said Roque.
“Nakaugalian ko na po lahat ng kasama ko na staff pinapa-test ko na rin po. Doon lumabas na ako’y negative at ang staff ko positive.
“Kaya yung trip ko to Visayas wala akong exposure doon at hindi ko po kasama sa Visayas yung staff ko na nag positive. So yung mga malisyoso, itigil niyo na po,” he added.
