Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo has urged the government’s detractors to focus some of their efforts on the education of Filipinos that the vaccination against Covid-19 is safe and important.
“Doon na lang kayo mag-concentrate. Let us educate our kababayans na huwag silang matakot sa pagbabakuna sapagkat hindi naman ito makakapinsala sa atin,” Panelo said during his commentary show “Counterpoint.”
Several individuals have questioned the administration’s apparent preference for China-made vaccines like Sinovac Biotech despite having high prices and allegedly low efficacy rates.
Meanwhile, Panelo commended the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) for stepping up its efforts to inform the public about the upcoming rollout of the government’s free vaccination program.
PCOO chief Martin Andanar earlier vowed to intensify the country’s communications and information campaigns to encourage the public to get vaccinated once a Covid-19 vaccine becomes available.
“With clear and concise communications and information drives, knowledge and clarity on the matter will be achieved,” said Andanar.
