To curb crimes, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo on Sunday sought to reimplement the ban on men riding in tandem.
Last week, the Philippine National Police deployed tactical motorcycle riding units (TMRUs) and secret marshals aboard motorcycles to eliminate crimes committed by motorcycle-riding perpetrators.
“Ipagbawal nalang natin yung merong sumasakay sa motorsiklo. Tama lang yung isa lang,” Panelo said during his commentary show “Counterpoint.”
TMRUs are strategically trained motorcycle-mounted patrollers who can respond to incidents perpetrated by motorcycle riders.
Secret marshals in motorcycles, on one hand, are dedicated covert operatives involved in the monitoring of motorcycle-riding suspects in the validated list.
