The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) has named eight candidates whom it recommended for a seat at the Sandiganbayan.
The JBC has already submitted the list which Malacanang received on Wednesday (Feb. 24).
From the list, President Rodrigo Duterte can make his pick as to which one to appoint at the Sandiganbayan.
In its letter to Duterte, the JBC explained the seat was left open at the Sandiganbayan following the passing of Associate Justice Reynaldo Cruz on Feb. 21, 2020.
Those who landed on the shortlist are Philip Aguinaldo, Lorna Francisca Catris Cheng, Ronald Chua, Lyn Ebora-Cacha, Dorcas Ferriols-Perez, Arthur Malabaguio, Rodolfo Noel Quimbo, and Buenaventura Albert Tenorio Jr.
